It Happens Only In Sri Lanka...

I went one of ma best friends' wedding yesterday!! It was in Taj and they had arranged all the things according to Buddhist rituals...
So i thought it's better to write something about the poruwa ceremony...
actually i don't even know much about that...
anyway here goes....
Of the many traditional events that take place during the Buddhist wedding, the ‘Poruwa’ ceremony is the most important. Therefore it is strictly guided by "Nekath".

The Poruwa Ceremony appears to have existed in Sri Lanka before the introduction of Buddhism in the 3rd Century B.C.

It was as valid custom as a registered marriage until the British introduced the registration of marriages by Law in 1870. Today's Poruwa Ceremony has been influenced by both upcountry and low country customs of Sri Lanka.

Getting married in Sri lankan Style is a life time experience. Compared to anywhere in the world, Sri Lanka is famous for long lasting marriages.
Present day society also have realized the value of their heritage!they have proved it yesterday!!

You are correct... "It Happens Only In Sri Lanka..." And I think it is the only thing that there's a true meaning when it comes to overspending Sri Lankan weddings.

it happens only in sri lanka and it has a lot of things connected to it too... i still can remember how everyone's eyes got wet when the person who do the customs said those gatha and kawi which appreciated mum's qualities.i think its one of the best custom still remaining from our culture.and it has a deep,important meaning too.i am glad you took the trouble to write up on this

Sri Lankan Government Vs Indian Government..!!

Yesterday I received two News Alert SMSs to ma mobile phone. It says that Indian Home minister and National Security adviser have resigned after the Mumbai attack. This thing is not familiar with Sri Lankan politics. How lucky Indian people to have politicians like this..!If this Mumbai incident happen in Sri Lanka then ... then what?? nothing gonna happen except death of innocent civilians. If this happen in Sri Lanka .. it will be just an incident, that's all and nothing more than that. Now the war is doing well in Sri Lanka.Yeah that's true that Sri Lankan Soldiers sacrificing their lives to destroy the terrorism.But most of the politicians can't understand the value of this.. Actually they can understand it but they don't like to understand it.. because the understanding of the reality is disadvantage for their persistence.

Photography..!!!

Specially Photography is used to preserve memories of favorites and as a source of entertainment. finally i want to mention this as well... U cannot be a photographer as soon as u get a camera...u need a creative eye to capture the view through the camera... mhhh.... i don't know whether i have that creativeness or not coz still i don't have a camera..... :( Like to be a Photographer...!!! Blogging.... 4 Human beings..!!

Hi ma friendz... I know this article will gonna totally different ... comparing with ma other blog articles.. Yeah i know guys.. But i had to write this .. By the way.. what is a BLOG?? A blog is a place where one can express their own ideas and to accept others comments depends on the personality of the author!! i think.. there's something missing guys... If someone misuses others personal feelings through a blog.. u guys think it's correct?? Does it go with the definition of "DA BLOG..!!" I don't think so.. We have no right to criticize others feelings like that.If we wrote something like that.. may be.. yeah obviously... our blog will gonna famous among the people.. because they like gossips.. that's human nature... But as human beings we do have a heart .. rite..!! SO how can we play with others feelings..?? If someone plays with others feelings trust me guys... she/he is not a human being. So Be a Human 1st...!! Then think about Blogging.. Coz Blogs belon...
